Our best tools have always been close to the hand, an extension of intent. Yet much of our work now lives in the browser and the cloud, a step removed. Studio Applications exists to close this distance, software that lives with you on your own machine, native to it, with abstractions stripped away.

Studio Applications creates software for those who care how their work is made, who feel the difference between a tool that respects their attention and one that does not. That care is something we share, and it shows in the detail. We ask of our own work what we would ask of any tool we rely on: deliberate, honest, respectful of the craft.

For all that is changing in how creative work gets made, the appetite for things shaped with skill and love shows no sign of fading. If anything, it grows more valuable. We think the best tools of the years ahead will allow creativity to bloom, while leaving the craft in our hands. That is the future worth building, and we intend to build our small part of it with care.
